CD Projekt RED considers it unlikely that Cyberpunk 2077’s multiplayer will appear in 2021, given the postponement of the single player release from April to September this year.

The announcement was made by Michał Nowakowski, CD Projekt RED board member and vice president of business development at the company. He called it unlikely that Cyberpunk 2077’s multiplayer will come out in 2021.

“Given the anticipated release of Cyberpunk 2077 in September, and frankly the series of events we’re expecting afterward, 2021 seems unlikely as a multiplayer release date,” Nowakowski said in a question-answer session with investors, according to Polygon. It is striking that he also has a hand in the single player, by speaking of an ‘expected release in September’.

On Thursday, CD Projekt RED announced that it will postpone Cyberpunk 2077 from April 16 to September 17. The game is said to be “complete and playable,” but the studio needs more time to test and polish it. In September last year, the company confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be multiplayer.
