MSI has announced the Cubi 3 Silent and the Cubi 3 Silent S. They are two compact desktop PCs that have Kaby Lake U processors and are passively cooled. The working and storage memory is easy to upgrade.
The Cubi 3 Silent and the Cubi 3 Silent S have an aluminum housing with dimensions of 160x70x110mm. The heatsink is also made of aluminum. The bottom is secured with four screws and removing these allows access to the m2 slot for the ssd, the two so-dimm slots for the ram and the 2.5″ hard drive bay for upgrades. vesa-mount are the housings to be attached to the back of a monitor.
The Cubi 3 Silent models have two USB 3.1 Gen 1 type-a ports and a front audio connector. At the back are two more of the same USB ports, in addition to HDMI 2.0, displayport 1.2 and a gigabit Ethernet port. Under the hood is an Intel 3168 network card for Wi-Fi ac. The S model has an Intel Ethernet controller and two USB 2.0 ports on the side. The non-S model has a Realtek Ethernet controller.
MSI will make both systems available at the end of October for an undisclosed price.
