MSI Introduces X299 Motherboards

MSI announced three motherboards with Intel’s new X299 socket at the Computex trade show in Taiwan. The X299 Gaming M7 ACK is aimed at overclockers, the X299 Gaming Pro Carbon AC lends itself to customization and the X299 Tomahawk has a metal finish.

The X299 Gaming M7 ACK is aimed at users who want to overclock their new Skylake X or Kaby Lake X processors as much as possible. For this, the motherboard is equipped with a 10+1+1 phase design. Furthermore, the motherboard is equipped with two Ethernet connections and a built-in WiFi connection, controlled with a Killer E2500 network chip and a Killer 1535 WiFi adapter.

MSI has equipped the X299 Gaming Pro Carbon AC with connectors for 3D printed parts, allowing users to customize the look of the motherboard. There are also RGB lighting built into the motherboard in various places.

The X299 Tomahawk is finished with stainless steel cooling blocks and has a connection for a USB-C port on the front panel. All three motherboards have cooling for SSDs in the m2 slot. Prices and delivery dates are still unknown.
