MSI introduces new netbooks and gaming laptop
MSI has announced three new Wind netbooks. The netbooks of the U123 series are equipped with a 10 “screen and an Atom N280 clocked at 1.66 GHz. MSI also announced the GX403 laptop for gamers.
The new netbooks in the U123 Series are slightly more angular than the U100 netbooks, and there are also some changes under the hood. The devices still use Intel’s Atom processor, but this time there is an N280 CPU instead of an N270. The processor clocked at 1.66GHz works together with the 945GSE chipset, which has the Intel GMA950-igp. The U123, the U123H and the U123T can be equipped with a maximum of 2GB memory and a 160GB HDD.
An RJ45 port, two or three USB2.0 ports, 802.11b/g/n and bluetooth are available for connection to the outside world; only the U123H has 3.5g communication. The U123T is again the only one equipped with a TV tuner. The 10″ screen has an LED backlight and a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. The netbooks, which are available in white, gray, blue and red, measure 260x180x33mm and weigh about one kilogram.
In addition to the new netbooks, MSI has also announced a laptop for gamers looking for a light and economical device. The GX403 has a 14.1″ screen with a resolution of 1280×800. To regulate the energy consumption, the laptop is equipped with MSI’s Eco engine, which allows the user to choose from Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Office and Turbo settings. The buyer can choose from various mobile Core 2 Duo processors and a maximum of 4 GB memory can be placed. A 500 GB hard disk and a Blu-ray player are among the options. The GX403 comes standard with a GT130M video card, which according to the text of MSI’s press release has 512MB DDR3 memory, while the specs speak of 256MB DDR3 ram. Nvidia can this gpu only use ddr2 or gddr3 memory again.
