Motorola edge 30 ultra with 200-megapixel camera costs 900 euros
Motorola has unveiled three edge 30 phones, including the ultra. This edge 30 ultra gets a 200-megapixel camera that can combine sixteen pixels into one pixel. The smartphone also has Snapdragons 8+ Gen 1-soc and a 6.67-inch OLED screen.
The Lenovo brand brought the edge 30 ultra previously released in China as the X30 Pro. Both phones are the first smartphones with a 200-megapixel camera. It concerns the Samsung HP1 camera sensor. In low light, that sensor can combine sixteen pixels into one pixel in the photo, so that pixels of 2.56 micrometers are created. The photo then has a 12.5-megapixel resolution.
In brighter light, the sensor can combine four pixels and take 50-megapixel resolution photos, or use the full 200-megapixel resolution. The sensor has an area of 82 square millimeters, an optical size of 1/1.22″ and an aperture of f/1.95. The camera can shoot 8k videos and record 4k videos with HDR10+. In addition to the main camera, there is a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a macro camera that can zoom in up to four times compared to the primary camera.
On the front there is a 60-megapixel camera, which is processed with a camera hole in the screen. That screen is 6.67 “in size and has a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels. The refresh rate is 144Hz.
The phone will get Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 soc, with 8 to 12GB Lpddr5 memory and 128 to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The battery has a capacity of 4610mAh and can be charged with 125W. Wireless charging is possible with a maximum of 50W. The device can wirelessly charge other phones with up to 10W. The Motorola edge 30 ultra comes with Android 12 and measures 161.8×73.5×8.4mm. The phone is immediately for sale and costs at least 900 euros.
Lenovo introduced two other new edge 30 devices; the fusion and the neo. The Fusion has a 6.55-inch OLED screen with curved sides and a refresh rate of 144Hz. This phone has a 50-megapixel camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, a macro camera and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. The device gets a Snapdragon 888+ SOC and is now for sale for 600 euros.
The last device, the neo, is also now for sale and costs 400 euros. This model has a 6.28″ OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. This screen supports one hundred percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut. On the back is a 64-megapixel camera, on the front a 32-megapixel sensor. The device gets a Snapdragon 695 soc.
