Mobvoi introduces TicWatch Pro 3 GPS smartwatch with Snapdragon Wear 4100-soc

Mobvoi has announced its TicWatch Pro 3 GPS smartwatch. The watch has a larger battery than its predecessor and has a Snapdragon Wear 4100-soc from Qualcomm. The smartwatch will be released on October 5 and will cost 300 euros.

The TicWatch Pro 3 GPS from Mobvoi is the first smartwatch with such a Snapdragon Wear 4100-soc. These socs are made on a 12nm process, while the previous Snapdragon Wear chips were produced at 28nm. According to Qualcomm, these new socs would offer 85 percent better CPU performance and 2.5x faster GPU compared to the previous Wear 3100 chips from 2018.

The watch has a 1.4 “amoled display with a resolution of 454×454 pixels. The TicWatch Pro 3 GPS, like the previous TicWatch Pro from 2018, also has a second TN screen that uses little power and continuously shows the time and other information. In addition, the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS has some new health features, including a blood oxygen meter, and the smartwatch also has a fitness mode.

Compared to the original TicWatch Pro, the new TicWatch Pro 3 GPS has a battery with about 40 percent more capacity. According to the manufacturer, the battery lasts up to 72 hours in ‘smart mode’. In a ‘essential fashion ‘, in which the secondary TN panel is used, can be stretched to a maximum of 45 days, according to the manufacturer.

The TicWatch Pro 3 GPS has dimensions of 47x48x12.2mm, weighs 41.9 grams and is made of stainless steel and plastic. The smartwatch comes with a silicone strap that is 22mm wide. Mobvoi reports that the watch is IP68 certified. The manufacturer also provides the watch with 1GB of memory and 8GB of storage capacity. The TicWatch Pro 3 runs on WearOS from Google and thus supports the Google Assistant, among other things. NFC, GPS, and other location standards such as Glonass and Galileo are also supported. The smartwatch also has a built-in barometer.
