Microsoft is testing live sports standings in a bar at the bottom of the Edge browser. A user of the Canary version of Edge caught sight of the booth. It can be turned off with a right click on the bar.

For the time being, this is a limited test, reports Ghacks. The bar appeared randomly at the bottom of the user’s screen of a new tab and while browsing random websites. The bar shows sports standings with the name of the competition and logos of the clubs. The Sports Ticker only appears to be visible when there are live sports matches.

Microsoft employees confirm the existence of the test on Reddit. The bar is intended for sports fans who don’t watch matches live, but want to stay informed while browsing. There is also an option to show the bar only on new tabs and on sports sites. You can also turn it off by right clicking. The function can also be turned off in the settings. It is still unknown if and when Microsoft will activate the feature in the stable version of Edge.
