Microsoft and Lenovo have signed a deal under which Lenovo will preload certain productivity apps on its Android devices. Microsoft has previously made such deals with other manufacturers.

The companies say that this includes software such as Office, OneDrive and Skype. It is not known which other apps will be standard on Lenovo devices. In addition, the companies state that it concerns a certain type of devices that will be equipped with the software, without going into further details.

In the message, Nick Parker, vice president of the OEM department at Microsoft, only talks about the fact that these are “premium devices.” Lenovo, which includes Motorola, expects to sell millions of Android phones in the coming years. The agreement between the company and Microsoft also includes a cross-licensing agreement, which includes devices from Lenovo and Motorola, according to the press release. The further content or value of the agreement has not been specified.

Microsoft previously closed such deals with other manufacturers. For example, the company announced in June that it will preload Office on certain devices from the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi. As part of that deal, Xiaomi bought about 1,500 patents from the Redmond company. According to The Verge, similar agreements have been made with Samsung, LG, Sony, Dell and Asus.
