The Microsoft Edge browser gets an efficient mode that puts less strain on system resources when playing a PC game. From now on, Edge can also upscale with Xbox Cloud Gaming and will have a new homepage where games are central.

The efficient mode must be there according to Microsoft help keep PC games running smoothly. The mode ensures that the Edge browser will require less processing power from the CPU and other components, although it is not clear exactly what adjustments Microsoft has made. The mode works on Windows 10 and Windows 11 and can be activated via the Edge settings menu.

The Edge browser also gains the ability to upscale during a game session on Xbox Cloud Gaming via Clarity Boost. Thanks to Clarity Boost, a streamed game should look sharper and clearer. Edge browser users will also be given the option to set up new gaming homepage. It will feature game news, tutorials, live streams and tournament announcements. New releases and newly released games will also be featured on the homepage.
