Microsoft is also bringing the News and Interests widget to the Windows 10 20H2 taskbar via an update. With that, users will also see personalized information such as news and weather in the October Update of Windows 10.

The update is available for Build 19042.962 for Windows 10 20H2, which is the October Update. In those versions, the News and interests feature is now available through the Beta and Preview Channel. It should also follow in the final version later. Initially, it was planned that the feature would only appear in the upcoming Windows 10 update, 21H2, but Microsoft now seems to be extending that to the older version of the OS.

News and Interests is a widget that can be called up from the taskbar. Users are thus shown news based on their interests such as previously visited websites. They also get to see a weather forecast. Users can also personalize the widget themselves with their own information. The feature has been available on the Insider Program’s Dev Channel for some time now, but now all testers can use it.

The update also includes many bug fixes for the OS and the Edge browser, including a fix for the issue with websites not exiting IE mode in Edge.
