LG will probably present its first smartphone with a 1440p screen next week. The manufacturer has sent an invitation to South Korean media for a meeting on Thursday, February 13.

The invitation that ZDNet put online seems to indicate that LG focuses the smartphone on music. Dance steps can be seen and the lyrics ‘knock-knock knockin’ on’ seem to come from Bob Dylan’s song ‘Knockin’ on heaven’s door’. In addition, Knock is the name of the feature in LG smartphones that allows users to activate the screen by double clicking on it. The invitation does not explicitly mention the G Pro 2, but ZDNet deduces that from it.

It is customary for the South Korean manufacturer to present devices in the weeks before the Mobile World Congress telecom fair. The manufacturer rarely, if ever, makes announcements at the fair itself. The meeting in South Korea indicates that the smartphone will first come out in the home country, something that also happened with the first Optimus G Pro.

The G Pro 2 is rumored to have a 5.9-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization that can record 4K videos and has a loudspeaker that can be louder than previous models.
