LG was going to present the successor to the G Flex at the beginning of January at CES. It is a smartphone with a bendable screen and the model is rumored to be equipped with a Snapdragon 800-soc from Qualcomm.

Qualcomm tweeted announced that at the beginning of January at CES a new smartphone will be presented, equipped with a Snapdragon 800-soc. Qualcomm has placed an image with the message from which it can be deduced that it is an LG smartphone. The photo shows the back of the device, with buttons on it: this is typical for the smartphones of the Korean manufacturer.

Based on the pattern, the photo also shows that the housing is made of LG’s bending plastic. Therefore, it is suspected that the device depicted is a successor to the previously released G Flex, the first bendable smartphone released by the manufacturer. If LG actually releases a successor, it is striking that the company again opts for the Snapdragon 800 soc: the G Flex also has this soc and the top models of most manufacturers are already running on the Snapdragon 801 or 805.

LG has confirmed at the end of May to work on the successor to the G Flex. The smartphone should initially appear in the second half of 2014, but the Korean electronics company has not reached that target date. At the time, LG announced that it was a device with a bendable screen, but no further details were disclosed
