LG has postponed the release of its first 5G smartphone until further notice. In the coming period, the manufacturer wants to use it to make the smartphone more complete before it comes out. The phone should have been released in South Korea on Friday.

Making the V50 ThinQ more complete has to do with software, hardware and network, LG claims. It is unknown what the exact cause is for the delay of the phone. The manufacturer also does not say when the phone will be released. As a result, it is unclear whether the delay will last days, weeks or months.

LG announced the V50 in February, along with the G8 ThinQ. The phone has a Snapdragon X50 modem to enable 5G, coupled with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 soc. Competitor Samsung already has a 5G model on the market, in the form of the Galaxy S10 5G. Lenovo has a 5G Moto Mod for the Moto Z3 Play, an accessory that can connect to 5g. They came out two weeks ago, when the first 5G networks went live in the US and South Korea.
