An image of an Xbox Game Pass subscription plan with a “Friends & Family” designation has surfaced. That could indicate that Microsoft is working on a Game Pass subscription that can be shared with friends and family.

The image was discovered by Twitter user Aggiornamenti Lumia. Earlier this summer it appeared that Microsoft was doing tests with a similar ‘Familiy’ subscription in Ireland and Colombia. With that subscription, up to five players could subscribe to the service for a lower total price compared to an individual Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The people with whom that ‘Family’ subscription is shared must reside in the same country as the main subscriber. It is not clear whether Microsoft will apply the same rules to the suspected ‘Friends & Family’ subscription formula.

The Game Pass Ultimate subscription costs 12.99 euros per month for an individual user. The ‘Family’ variant that Microsoft is testing with costs 21.99 euros per month in Ireland. Any account using this subscription will receive an Ultimate subscription. The rumors that Microsoft is working on an Xbox Game Pass subscription for families have been around since the month of April. At that time, it was probably only a subscription that could be shared with five other people within the same household.

Xbox Game Pass gives players access to several hundred Xbox games on the consoles. The list of available games is changeable: games are added and other games are removed. The basic subscription costs 9.99 euros per month and a PC version can also be purchased. For 12.99, users have Game Pass Ultimate, which combines the two variants, offers multiplayer access in the form of Xbox Live Gold, and adds cloud gaming.
