According to sources from Video Games Chronicle, game publisher Konami is working on a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3. The studio behind it is said to be Virtuos Studios, a game maker that has worked on major titles and ports thereof. Castlevania would also get a new game.

VGC’s sources remain anonymous, as they are not allowed to talk about the games publicly. The Singapore studio that is said to be behind it, Virtuos, has collaborated on a lot of triple-A games. It was co-developer for many games, such as XCOM 2, Dark Souls Remastered and Battlefield 1. In addition to a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, Konami would also like to release remasters of other Metal Gear games from the past.

The Castlevania title that VGC’s sources are talking about would be a completely new game. They describe it as a ‘reimagined’ Castlevania game. This title is said to be under development internally at Konami, with support from outside studios.

Also in February, a signal came out that Konami is back working on Silent Hill, another well-known franchise of the company. Game music composer Akira Yamaoka said he was working on a new project to be announced in the summer of this year. “It’s the one you hope is him,” he said in an interview at the time. Shortly after that interview was published, the hosting YouTube channel AlHub was asked by an unknown party to take it offline. It did. Yamaoka has written the music for almost all Silent Hill games. Sources of VGC also reported that it is Silent Hill.

Konami itself wanted to give a presentation during E3 2021, but canceled it anyway. It did assure fans that it has several “big projects” in development. It promised to provide updates on those projects “in the coming months.” That was in May.
