Nuance has stopped offering the Swype keyboard for iOS and Android. From now on, the company puts all effort into keyboards for smartphone makers, for example, and no longer offers its app in download stores.

Nuance told a Reddit user to stop supporting the Android version, who posted about it. The company previously announced in a Zendesk post that the iOS app would disappear. The version for iOS already seems to be no longer available, but the Android version is currently in the Play Store. The last update is from last month.

Swype was the first known keyboard to popularize the swipe feature for typing words. Samsung and Nokia, among others, invested money in the small company that developed Swype and Swype previously also came out for Symbian and Windows Mobile 6. Samsung and Nokia have both included it in the firmware of devices. Nuance acquired Swype in 2011. Nuance is known for Dragon, speech recognition software for mobile devices.
