Just Cause developer creates open world game Contraband for Microsoft

Microsoft announces Contraband, an open world co-op game co-created with Avalanche Studios, the developer of the Just Cause game. The game seems to be about smugglers.

Microsoft shows a teaser trailer and no gameplay yet. From the movie and the name, it can be concluded that the game revolves around smugglers. What exactly players should do in the game is not yet clear. According to the teaser, it will be an open world game that can be played in co-op.

It is the first announcement of the game. Avalanche Studios is not part of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios, but Microsoft has hired the Just Cause developer specifically to make a game for Xbox consoles. It is not yet known when the game will be released. Like Microsoft’s own games, the game will be part of the Game Pass subscription.
