Spread the love

Apple released iOS 15.1 for the iPhone and iPadOS 15.1 for the iPad tonight. It is a relatively large interim update with a number of new functions. And of course, the update also provides the necessary bug fixes and security updates. It is already the third interim update after the release of iOS 15 in September.

What’s new?

iOS 15.1 has some notable new features, including SharePlay. SharePlay should have been in the first version of iOS 15, but Apple took a little longer to perfect it. With SharePlay you can share content with your conversation partner(s) during FaceTime. Watch series and movies from Apple TV+ together, listen to the same songs in Apple Music, or share what’s happening on your screen.

Especially for the new iPhone 13 Pro (Max), iOS 15.1 offers some innovations for the camera. Here you can set the automatic macro mode turn of. You can also now ProRes Videos record. Less compression is applied to these videos, giving you more extensive editing options afterwards.

You can read what else is new in Apple’s release notes at the bottom of this post.
