The well-known ‘smartphone nice’ EvLeaks has posted an image online of the OnePlus 3. The render shows a metal design and according to Evan Blass, the device has an OLED screen, just like the OnePlus X from last year.

The battery has a capacity of 3000mAh, Blass further states in the tweet. As with the OnePlus 2, a ‘Home button’ with fingerprint scanner can be seen on the front. Just like the predecessor, a USB-c port is visible at the bottom, along with a speaker and 3.5mm jack. The side shows a slider and volume buttons.

It seems to be a device with a metal design and plastic antenna lines, as HTC once did with the One M7 from 2013. The camera also seems to stick out slightly. The Blass render corresponds to images that previously appeared online of the device, for example at GizmoChina.

OnePlus will reportedly present the 3 next month. Specifications from the rumor circuit point to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820-soc and variants with a memory of 4GB and 6GB. The screen size is not yet clear. The first rumors spoke of 5.5″, but the size of elements such as the USB-C port and 3.5mm jack on the render indicate a screen of around 5″. The manufacturer has not yet announced anything about the upcoming device.

OnePlus has released three phones so far. The OnePlus One came out in the summer of 2014 and the OnePlus 2 a year later, after which the manufacturer released the OnePlus X last fall.

Update, 14:47: Engadget reports that OnePlus has sent the render to various Chinese media and notes that OnePlus’ sister company Vivo has tricked its fans in the past with fake renders for the presentation. That could indicate that the render does not reflect the final design of the OnePlus 3.
