Hyrule Warriors: the final battle can erupt!

Recently, Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition came out for the Nintendo Switch. This is another remake of a game that also came out for the Wii U in 2014, just like titles like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze. As the title suggests, this edition contains all the DLC, extra costumes and even content from the 3DS version. Time to go back to the battlefield again.

Most gamers will know the game or at least know what it is about. It is a variant of Dynasty Warriors, but completely in a Zelda theme, with various characters and environments from various Zelda games. Do not expect Zelda gameplay, because in Hyrule Warriors it’s all about chopping, chopping and chopping.

The horde is coming

Basically, you play each level on a folder with various enemies and structures. It is up to you to capture pieces of the map to get further and to repel the attack of the monsters. These can in turn also recover parts of the folder. You will therefore have to be careful (and switch between characters) where you are most needed on the battlefield. More than once I let myself be distracted by a somewhat larger-looking monster and my focus was on that. That this monster was running around aimlessly did not interest me. Heels!!! Murder, death, kill !!!

Unfortunately, due to my misplaced focus, the enemy with small hordes of monsters could quickly recover some parts of the map, which meant I was at a disadvantage. It is therefore very careful and strategic thinking, even though it looks like a simple hack/slash game at first glance. Fortunately, the controls remain fairly simple, which is nice again.
