Huawei Mate 40 Pro renders and specifications appear online

The official renders and specifications of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro have appeared online. The device gets Android 10 without Google apps and services and is equipped with the Kirin 9000-soc, which is still made by TSMC.

According to reports from WinFuture, the Mate 40 Pro will get a 6.76 “OLED screen with a resolution of 2772×1344 pixels. The refresh rate is not yet known. It is again a ‘waterfall screen’, with the edges strongly curved. known for publishing correct information about telephones not yet presented.

The device will reportedly receive a Kirin 9000-soc. It is made by TSMC at 5nm and has four Cortex-A77 cores and four A55 cores. One of the A77 cores runs at 3.13GHz, the other three at 2.54GHz. The soc has an integrated 5g modem with support for frequencies below 6GHz. The modem does not have mmWave support.

TSMC stopped deliveries to Huawei in September due to the US trade ban. The chips for the Mate 40 phones were still produced and delivered before that time. Also because of that trade ban, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro does not have Google apps or services on board. The device runs on software based on Android 10.

On the back is a 50-megapixel camera with optical stabilization, a 20-megapixel camera with ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel camera with 5x optical ‘zoom’. The primary camera can record 8k video and Huawei is said to be using a new autofocus system. On the front is a 13-megapixel front camera, with a sensor to scan faces in 3d next to it.

The device has a 4400mAh battery and can fast charge with 65W. The dimensions are 162.9×75.5×9.1mm and the weight is 212 grams. Huawei only supplies a version with 8GB ram and 256GB flash storage in Europe, according to WinFuture. The price is not known yet. The official launch of the Mate 40 series will follow this Thursday.
