Huawei comes with the MediaPad X1 7.0. This tablet has a 7″ screen with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. The thickness of the tablet is 7.5mm, making the model thinner than the Nexus 7 2013 from Google and Asus, for example.

The MediaPad X1 7.0, with type name 7D-501, has a ppi of 323 due to its resolution and screen diagonal and the screen properties are therefore identical to those of the popular Nexus 7 2013. Furthermore, there is 2GB of RAM, while the soc is from Huawei itself: it concerns the Hisilicon 910 Kirin, with four Cortex A9 cores clocked at 1.6GHz. The GPU is the Mali-450.

It is not known whether the soc is more powerful than the Snapdragon quadcore of the Nexus 7. However, the Huawei is 7.5 mm thinner than the 8.6 mm that Google’s tablet measures. The MediaPad X1 also weighs 239 grams less than the 289 grams of the Nexus. Incidentally, the iPad mini is as thin as the MediaPad, but not lighter.

The tablet is certified by the Chinese organization responsible for telecommunications Tenaa. According to The Droid Guy, the page showing this shows that the model is still running Android 4.2. The price of the tablet is not yet known, but Huawei will probably announce the tablet at the end of February during the MWC fair in Barcelona.
