HTC has presented a new budget smartphone in Taiwan, the Desire 12s. It is the seventh and presumably last smartphone that the manufacturer presents this year. The device is particularly striking because of the placement of the camera element on the back.

The camera is centered, but the element with the lens and flash is left of center, something that other smartphones often have centered. It is a 13-megapixel camera with a single LED flash, according to information from HTC Taiwan. There is also a 13-megapixel camera on the front.

The phone has a 5.7″ display with 18:9 ratio and a resolution of 1440×720 pixels, a resolution that is fairly common in the price range around 200 euros. The phone uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435-soc, with 3GB or 4GB of lpddr3 memory and 32GB or 64GB of emmc storage. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back.

The Desire 12s is a variant of the Desire 12 and 12+ presented this spring. It is HTC’s seventh smartphone this year, after the U11 Eyes, Desire 12, Desire 12+, U12+, U12 Life and crypto smartphone Exodus 1.
