HMD releases Nokia X6 smartphone with 19:9 notch screen in China

HMD has announced the Nokia X6 in China. It is the manufacturer’s first smartphone with a 19:9 screen with a notch in it. It is an LCD with a resolution of 2280×1080 pixels. For now, the phone will not be released outside of China.

The Nokia X6 has a Snapdragon 636-soc and 4GB or 6GB ram. The device has a glass back and a metal edge. The LCD on the front is finished with Gorilla Glass 3. On the back is a fingerprint scanner and a dual camera. It is a combination of a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 lens and a 5-megapixel camera for black and white photos, which also has an f/2.0 lens.

The 4GB versions have 32GB or 64GB storage space and the 6GB variants have 64GB. It is possible to expand the storage with a micro SD card. The phone has a battery with a capacity of 3060mAh and charging is done via the USB-C connection. A headphone jack is available. The screen has a diagonal of 5.8″. The phone measures 147.2×71.0x8.0mm. The element with the rear cameras protrudes about 0.6mm.

According to HMD, the device runs on Android Oreo. HMD has not yet announced plans to release the Nokia X6 in countries other than China. The Finnish company will sell the device in China from May 21 for a price from 1299 yuan, converted about 173 euros. The model with the best specifications costs 1699 yuan, or about 226 euros. If the device or a comparable model comes to the Benelux, the price is probably higher. The 2018 version of the Nokia 6, with a 16:9 screen and Snapdragon 630-soc, costs 299 euros here.
