Blizzard will stop developing new content for Heroes of Storm. However, hero rotations and seasonal rolls will remain. In the future, the developer will only focus on bug fixes, the client and possible balance updates.

The developer announces that Heroes of the Storm, like StarCraft and StarCraft II, will no longer receive new content, but will continue to receive the necessary support. The in-game store will also remain active, although no new content will be added to it. In next week’s update, all players will receive an Epic Arcane Lizard mount “as a token of appreciation.”

The moba appeared in 2015. Three years later, Blizzard already downsized the Heroes of the Storm development team to focus on other projects. Planned e-sports tournaments for the moba in 2019 were also canceled. Loot boxes were also removed from the game that year.

Blizzard announced earlier this year that Overwatch 2 will be released in early access and free-to-play on October 4 of this year. In addition, Diablo IV is expected by June 2023 at the latest.
