The HEMA has started a product line for home automation under the name HEMA smart. The line consists of smart lamps and a smart socket that can be set with an app and a separately available remote control.

The range of the HEMA smart product line at the time of writing consists of nine smart lamps and, as far as accessories are concerned, there is a remote control and a smart socket. The lighting includes, for example, pears and balls with an E27 fitting, an E14 candle lamp and an LED spotlight. There are lamps that can be changed in color and white lamps that are dimmable and whose color temperature can be adjusted. The prices vary from 12 to 17.50 euros.

The smart WiFi plug costs 15 euros and a remote control is available for 20 euros. In combination with the HEMA smart app, the products work with Alexa and Google Home, but not yet with Apple HomeKit. A hub is not necessary; the products work via WiFi. The app is available for Android and iOS .

The app’s creator, Electro Cirkel Retail, is also responsible for the apps for the Action ‘s Calex smartphone products and LSC Smart Connect . Those products also have the necessary similarities with the HEMA offer. For example, the remote controls look alike, although the Action promises a range of 20 meters for its 7.50 euro remote, and the HEMA is talking about a range of 25 meters for its remote that costs 20 euros . The LSC Smart Connect smart plugs of the Action and those of HEMA are also very similar. Tuya is mentioned on the HEMA products mentioned, the company that seems to be behind all of the mentioned smart home products.
