GPD shows a new version of its Pocket mini laptop. The Pocket 3 will have a rotating screen and a modular port. GPD plans to release versions with an Intel Core i7-1195G7 and Pentium N6000 processor.

GPD shows on Twitter in recent days images and information from his Pocket 3. This shows that the device will have an 8″ screen with a 16:10 ratio, a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and a maximum brightness of 500cd/m². The screen can rotate 360 degrees, so that the device can also be used as a tablet. The mini-convertible gets 16GB of lpddr4x memory and a 512GB or 1TB NVMe SSD.

In a first sketch, the Chinese manufacturer showed a design for modular gates. A module could be placed on the back of the mini laptop for, for example, an extra USB-A port. There are already two USB-A ports, an HDMI connection and a USB-C port on the sides. It is not yet known which modules GPD will offer.

GPD wants to make an implementation with the Intel Core i7-1195G7 processor. That is Intel’s fastest economical Tiger Lake quad-core processor, with a relatively powerful integrated GPU. There should also be a variant with a Pentium N6000 processor.

It is not yet known when the mini laptop will be on the market and what it will cost. The manufacturer usually markets its products through a crowdfunding campaign. Such a campaign has not yet started for the Pocket 3. The GPD Pocket 2 was released in 2018. That mini laptop has a regular 7 “screen, a Core m3 processor and a weight of 515 grams. That model currently costs about 750 euros.
