GoPro has announced the Hero 10 Black. With the GP2, the actioncam has a more powerful processor than its predecessor, so that several functions can be used faster. The maximum frame rate of recordings has also been doubled.
With the GP2, the Hero series has a new soc for the first time since 2017, with the arrival of the Hero 6 Black. According to GoPro, the new processor is twice as powerful and, among other things, the interface would be more responsive, while transferring files should also run more smoothly.
The Hero 10 Black can shoot images at 5.3K60, 4K120 and 2.7K240, with which the maximum frame rates are twice as high as with the Hero 9. The sensor of the Hero 10 is a 23-megapixel model, compared to 20 megapixels for the predecessor . With the new actioncam, users can create 15.8 megapixel frame grabs from 5.3K video.
GoPro’s HyperSmooth image stabilization technology has had a minor upgrade to version 4.0. The tilt limit for horizon leveling has increased from 27 to 45 degrees. Furthermore, the weight compared to the Hero 9 with the Hero 10 has been reduced from 158 grams to 153 grams. Many other specifications have remained the same, such as the size of the LCDs and the battery capacity.
The Hero 10 Black will cost 530 euros. GoPro will also continue to ship the Hero 9 for $430, while the Hero 8 will remain available for $330.
