Google’s Digital Wellbeing settings come out for smartphones other than Pixel phones and smartphones in the Android One program. The Samsung Galaxy S10 and Nokia 8 and 6 from 2017 also get this app.

Samsung has built the Google version of Digital Wellbeing into its S10 phones, XDA-Developers discovered. The 2017 Nokia 8 and 6, which don’t run Android One, will get the options with the Android 9.0 upgrade for those phones. They are now coming out. Nokia phones with Android One already had Digital Wellbeing in the settings.

Digital Wellbeing is the collection of settings that allow users to curb the use of their smartphone and apps. This is done, among other things, by imposing limits on the use of certain apps or types of apps. In addition, users can choose the screen to become monochrome after a certain amount of time in the evening.

XDA-Developers discovered even more changes to the S10’s settings. For example, users can use the Bixby button to open an app other than Samsung’s digital assistant. Samsung also replaces the four screen modes it has been using for seven years with two: vivid and natural. In addition, there are advanced settings for the color adjustment of the screen.

The software also has an option to use the space around the hole for the front camera or front cameras as a notification LED, which is missing on the phone. For example, it is possible to have the ring light up in a certain color when a message arrives in a certain app.

Samsung presented the Galaxy S10 on Wednesday evening. The phones will be on sale in two weeks. The cheapest version, the S10e, costs from 750 euros, while the most expensive version of the S10+, with 1TB storage and 12GB memory, should cost 1500 euros.
