Google will start migrating reminders from Calendar and Assistant to Tasks next month to make it a central place for to-do’s. From March 6, users can choose to transfer their reminders; This will happen automatically from May 22.

The migration of reminders to Google Tasks was announced in September, but now it is known when it will take place. The intention is that all reminders that users have created in the Google Assistant and Calendar apps will be clearly visible in a single service. according to Google.

After these reminders have been transferred, it is also possible to create ‘tasks’ from Google Workspace web apps, such as Gmail, Docs and Chat, that will then be placed in Tasks. Google does report that Keep’s reminders are not transferred to Tasks. They will still be available in the Keep app, but will no longer appear in the Calendar app after the migration.

From March 6, personal Google accounts will have the option to transfer their Reminders to Google Tasks. It will happen automatically from May 22. For Workspace users, the rollout of the voluntary migration will not start until April 12.
