Google will show users the same search results on different domains

Google will ensure that a user who uses different Google domains will see the same search results. This means that it no longer matters whether someone uses Google.nl or Google.com.

The changes take effect immediately, so the search engine no longer takes into account which Google domain is used to search; only the location of the user is still relevant for the displayed search results. Incidentally, the location used can still be adjusted manually in the settings of the search engine.

Previously, when displaying search results, Google took into account which domain was used. This means, for example, that the results may be different when searching with google.nl, compared to, for example, google.com.

According to Google, the changes are driven by the fact that the user’s location is important for the relevance of the search results. As a result, the internet giant chooses to no longer weigh the domain used. This applies to both desktop and mobile.
