Google Pixel 3a smartphone costs 399 euros
Google has announced the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. The smartphones will cost 399 and 479 euros in Germany. The phones have the same camera as the more expensive Pixel 3 and also have a 3.5mm jack.
Google explained the presence of the 3.5mm jack during the presentation, stating that “some people want options when connecting a headset.” The jack was missing on Pixel 2 and 3 phones from past years. The devices have to do without stereo speakers on the front.
The Pixel 3a and 3a XL run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670-soc from Qualcomm, an octacore at up to 2GHz with an Adreno 615 GPU. Google has added 4GB of lpddr4x memory with 64GB of non-expandable storage. The plastic housing is not waterproof and wireless charging, which is on the Pixel 3, is also missing on the cheaper version.
The Pixel 3a has the same camera and camera features as the Pixel 3, including Night Sight. The second front camera with wide-angle lens is missing on the 3a series.
