Google is investigating a problem with logged out accounts
On Friday, people are reporting that their Google account has been automatically logged out. People also struggle with login problems. Google is conducting an investigation but says there is no evidence of any security threats.
It’s not clear how many Google accounts have been logged out, but the problem appears to be widespread and global. google acknowledges the issues on Twitter and posted a report on its support website.
According to Google, there is no indication that logging out of the accounts is related to phishing or other security threats. It is not clear why many accounts have suddenly been logged out unexpectedly, the search giant does not yet provide an explanation for this and says it is investigating.
Some users report having trouble logging back into their account. Google writes that there may be a delay when receiving an SMS code for two-step authentication. The company is asking users to try again or use backup codes.
Some Google Wifi and OnHub devices have been automatically reset to factory settings due to login issues. In an email to users of those devices, Google writes that this is due to a problem with the Google Accounts engine. Users need to reset their device.
