Google is going to ask for money for apps after the EU’s fine

Smartphones can become more expensive, just like apps and all of this after a 4.34 billion euro imposed by the European Commission (EC). And all that because Google is guilty of misuse of power with the Android operating system according to the EC.

For Google the moment to consider asking smartphone producers in the future for money to install Google applications. Everything revolves around the main services of Google (including of course the search engine and the Chrome browser). Even if it does not stand out, it does not seem that the search engine (which almost everyone uses), but the possibility of exploiting it commercially is much more the case. That Google, once owner of Android – now housed in an alliance, for the tough penalty of over 4 billion with a counter-reaction is predictable.

Pre-installed

The master plan from Google is now to stop bundling pre-installed apps on the Android platform and instead offer licenses to manufacturers for their search engine and the Chrome browser (as well as a bundled license for YouTube, Google Maps and Gmail). These licenses must then be paid by manufacturers who want to pre-install the apps on devices sent to the EU. This should prevent possible fines in the future by the European Union.

After October 29, Google wants to offer individual (paid) licenses to manufacturers for their search engine and the Chrome browser, as well as a bundled license for YouTube, Maps and Gmail. These licenses must be paid by manufacturers who want to pre-install the apps on devices sent to the EU.
