GitHub has released a public beta for the chat feature in code writing AI CoPilot. This allows programmers to ask CoPilot in spoken language to write certain functions or code. CoPilot Chat can also make suggestions to improve code.

GitHub makes CoPilot Chat generally available in the beta phase. Every user, both with an Individual and an enterprise subscription, can use this for free.

CoPilot Chat is a GPT-4 based chatbot that helps programmers write code. Chat was already available in Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code, but not yet in other IDEs. The tool makes it possible to provide prompts in colloquial language to ask for certain code. Chat can also analyze code and provide tips or feedback. Chat, for example, suggests best practices and tips. The tool can also guide new programmers into learning new programming languages.
