The Predator Helios 500 laptop recently announced by Acer also comes in a version with a Ryzen 7 2700 CPU and a Vega 56 video card. The previously announced version was equipped with a Geforce GTX 1070 and an Intel CPU.

For the time being, only a few specifications of the Predator Helio 500 with the Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU are on Acer’s website. The AMD Ryzen 7 2700 CPU has eight cores and sixteen threads and has a clock frequency of 3.2GHz and a boost up to 4.1GHz. Presumably the other specifications are largely the same.

With the Intel variant, as far as the DDR4 RAM is concerned, you can choose a capacity of 16 to a maximum of 64GB. The screen is a 17.3″ IPS LCD with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels or 1920×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The screen also supports G-Sync; the Ryzen variant of the laptop at least supports FreeSync, although it is not clear at what range the synchronization between screen and gpu is supported.

It is not yet clear when the Ryzen variant of the Predator Helios 500 will be released. The models with the Intel CPUs and the Geforce GTX 1070 will be available in the Benelux from July. Acer previously mentioned a price of 2199 euros, which is probably the price for the base model.
