Fujifilm presents a new system camera. The X-A3 is an entry-level model and compared to its predecessor, the main changes are the new sensor with a higher resolution and the addition of touch functionality on the camera screen.

The 24-megapixel sensor in the X-A3 is of the aps-c format and has a sensitivity of 200 to 6400 iso, which can be digitally expanded to 100 to 25,600. The predecessor X-A2 had a sensor with a resolution of 16.5 megapixels. The device works with contrast-detection autofocus and can use 49 points in single autofocus mode, or 77 points in tracking mode.

The 3″ touchscreen can be tilted 180 degrees and Fujifilm presents the device as a camera with which you can easily take selfies. The camera is equipped with WiFi and can film in full HD resolution.

The models in the XA series do not have an X-Trans sensor, but a cmos with a regular Bayer design. Fujifilm uses the special X-Trans format in its higher-level mirrorless cameras in the XT and XE series. However, the film simulation modes are available, with which photos can be provided with a filter that mimics the colors of analog Fujifilm film rolls.

Fujifilm bundles the X-A3 with a 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS II lens and the camera comes in a silver, brown and pink version. A euro price is not yet known, but in the US the kit will cost $ 599. Converted including VAT, that is about 642 euros.

Fujifilm also comes with the XF 23mm f/2 R WR lens. In combination with the manufacturer’s aps-c mirrorless cameras, the lens gives an angle of view comparable to that of 35mm lenses on full-frame cameras. The 23mm lens is sealed against dust and moisture, weighs 180 grams and comes in black and silver on the market for a suggested retail price of $ 449, converted with VAT about EUR 483.
