Fujifilm has announced a new compact system camera with interchangeable lens. The X-A10 is an entry-level model in the X-series that has a 16.3-megapixel sensor and a tilting LCD.

The LCD can be tilted 180 degrees and when the user does, the camera automatically activates eye detection to focus on faces. Fujifilm also claims to have adapted the grip in such a way that the camera is also pleasant to hold when the user points it at himself.

The manufacturer is thus trying to tap into the popularity of selfies and vloggers. The system camera also has a special button to record video directly. This is possible at 1080p with a maximum of 30fps. The 16.3-megapixel sensor is of the aps-c type and the ISO range is from 200 to 6400.

The standard lens supplied by Fujifilm is the XC16-50mmF3.5-5.6 OIS II. Delivery will start in January for $499. The euro price is not yet known.
