The upcoming GeForce RTX 3090 Ti cards from EVGA and Colorful could just be 3.5 to 4 slots thick to accommodate the large coolers this card needs. This is evident from photos of the cards in the hands of VideoCardz.
EVGA and Colorful are going to release extra thick air-cooled versions of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, because the cards require more cooling than their predecessor. That writes Videocardz. This allows the cards to be 3.5 to 4 slots thick. The website has published a number of images of the video cards yet to be announced.
The EVGA card features a new I/O bracket and the PCIe Gen5 power connector is located on the back of the card, rather than on the side. According to Videocardz, Colorful is coming with three RTX 3090 Ti models, the BattleAx Deluxe, Vulcan and Neptune. All three are air-cooled. They do have shorter PCBs than EVGA’s cards, but they have a large heat conductor on the back.
The iGame Vulcan OC will also be 3.5 slots thick and this card is, based on the photos, one centimeter thicker than its predecessor, the RTX 3090 Vulcan. Colorful also comes with a liquid-cooled model, the iGame Neptune OC. Instead of three fans, it has a two-slot AIO kit connected to a 280mm radiator with two fans, Videocardz writes.
Nvidia announced the arrival of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti in January. The RTX 3090 Ti is said to be released on Tuesday. That’s what Videocardz said earlier. The card is expected to have a GA-102 GPU with 10,752 CUDA cores. The card also gets 24GB GDDR6X memory with a speed of 21Gbit/s. The RTX 3090 has 10,496 CUDA cores with 24GB DDR6X memory at 19.5Gbit/s. The RTX 3090 Ti would also get higher clock speeds. For that extra computing power, more power is also needed. The thermal board power is 450W, as opposed to 350W in the RTX 3090. That’s why the card comes with a new power connector.
