Download Firmware Sony PlayStation 3 4.00
Sony has released new firmware for the PlayStation 3. The firmware has been assigned number 4.00 and is 180MB in size. Downloading is preferably possible from the menu of the game console itself or alternatively from the Sony website. Not much has changed in this release. New in version 4.00 is support for the successor to the PlayStation Portable, the PS Vita. For example, files can be exchanged between the two and it is possible to provide the PlayStation Vita with new system software when it is connected to the PS3 with a USB cable.
Compatibility with the PlayStation Vita system
You can now copy content such as music, video and image data, games and other applications from the PS3 system to the PS Vita system and vice versa. In addition, you can save the data saved on the PS Vita system to the hard drive of the PS3 system. You can also update your PS Vita system’s system software through the PS3 system’s network features.
To use these features, connect the PS Vita system to the PS3 system with a USB cable. Control is via the PS Vita system.

- Upscaling output and cinema conversions are now supported for Blu-ray Disc (BDMV) content.
- You can now go under Settings > [Systeeminstellingen] > [Automatisch updaten] select the items you want to update. This feature can only be used by PlayStation Plus members.
- [Engels (Verenigd Koninkrijk)] and [Portugees (Brazilië)] are as options under Settings > [Systeeminstellingen] > [Systeemtaal] added.

- [Privacy-instellingen] is as a feature under [Accountbeheer] added.
