Cisco Systems has released new firmware for the first generation of the Linksys WRT1900AC after more than a year. This dual-band router has four gigabit connections and can transmit and receive wirelessly over the bands 802.11a through 802.11ac. As the name suggests, the maximum wireless speed is 1.9 Gbps. There are also a USB 2.0 and 3.0 connection and an eSata port to share a printer or external storage via the network. The main improvements made in this release can be found below.
