Apple has released new firmware for the iPhone in the form of version 2.0.2. The update can be applied to the iPhone by updating the mobile phone via iTunes or the recovery file is downloaded and then put on the iPhone via iTunes. The 2.0.2 firmware weighs just under 242 megabytes. Apple’s developers have not revealed exactly what changes have been made in the new firmware. According to the version 2.0.2 release notes, the update contains “bug fixes” only, but previous reports indicate that the new firmware should address reception issues.
The iPhone 2.0 software brings new improvements. For example, it is possible to download applications and games via the App Store to the iPhone, and also to the iPod Touch when the 2.0 firmware is released for that device, and Google Maps can use the GPS receiver in the iPhone .
