Fail0verflow has made new strides to get Linux fully running on the Nintendo Switch. A video shows how Debian works with KDE Plasma, including touchscreen support, on the console.

In a video fail0verflow shows how with Debian and KDE Plasma to wake the Switch with a tap on the screen. The brightness of the screen can be adjusted with the slider and it is possible to scroll a page within the browser. Text input also works with the virtual keyboard.

Last week fail0verflow managed to exploit a bootrom bug to get Linux up and running. The exploit would work on all firmware versions and the bug is probably only fixable if Nintendo starts installing modified Tegra X1 socs in the Switch. Fail0verflow does not disclose details about the hack.
