Samsung would like to release its Galaxy S9 on March 16. That’s what telecom journalist Evan Blass claims. Samsung previously said that it wants to present its high-end smartphone during the Mobile World Congress telecom fair in Barcelona.

Suspected Galaxy S9 in a case

Blass claims on his Twitter account @evleaks that users can order the device from March 1, after which deliveries will start two weeks later. This would make the Galaxy S9 earlier in the year than the Galaxy S8 last year. It hit stores on April 28.

Samsung said earlier that it will present the Galaxy S9 at the Mobile World Congress telecom fair. It starts on February 26 in Barcelona. The manufacturer has shown four of its eight previous Galaxy S models for the first time at the European telecom fair.

The design of the Galaxy S9 and S9 + would be almost identical to that of the S8 and S8 + according to previous reports. The smartphones will reportedly get stereo speakers and keep the 3.5mm jack. The fingerprint scanner is probably right under the camera, where it is still next to the camera with the Galaxy S8. In addition, that camera contains a variable aperture by means of a physical shutter, something that has not occurred with smartphones in recent years.
