EVGA has released a new micro-atx motherboard based on the Intel X299 chipset. The compact board is, among other things, equipped with an improved power supply with active cooling.

According to EVGA, the X299 Micro ATX 2 motherboard with lga2066 socket is suitable for the fastest Core i9 cpu’s. Also the overclocking of processors like the Core i9-7980XE should not be a problem. EVGA uses a power supply consisting of fourteen phases and has equipped the vrm’s with a heatsink with a small fan on it.
The board has two eight pin plugs and an extra six pin connector. The pcb consists of eight layers and both the pci-e and the dimm slots are reinforced. Power and reset buttons are also included on the motherboard.
EVGA provides the board with an integrated Intel AC8265 Wi-Fi module and an Intel i219V Gigabit network adapter. There are six pwm headers to connect fans and six sata-600 connections. There is space for a m2-ssd of 80mm long and there is also a m2-slot where a card with narrows of up to 32mm can be inserted.
Last year EVGA released its first X299 motherboard of the matx format from. That copy was less focused on overclocking and has a power supply of twelve phases. EVGA sells the new board on its own website for 290 euros.
