EV Experience continues: ‘We fought hard for it’

Despite the stricter corona measures by the government, the brand-new car event on the Zandvoort circuit will continue ‘as usual’.

The founder and organizer of EV Experience is happy: “We fought very hard for this”, says Maarten Pompen.

Extra measures

Pompen has taken extra measures to make his event a (safe) success: “There are fewer visitors (maximum 500 per day, ed.) So that we have more space for the visitors who are there. This way we can guarantee the 1.5 meter distance to each other. “

Circuit Zandvoort is a so-called ‘through-flow location’: “We have established a route that is one-way, so that you do not get in each other’s way”, says Pompen.

Test drive

“If you want to take a test drive in one of the electric cars, you have to put on a face mask. It is imperative advice to put on a face mask anyway when you are present at the event. “

‘Mister Electric’ is happy that he can continue with his event in consultation with the authorities. “We have made good agreements with the Kennemerland Safety Region (which includes Zandvoort, ed.).”

EV

No roaring engines or petrol fumes, but whizzing past EVs (Electric Vehicles), e-bikes, scooters, scooters and motorcycles. The pit boxes have been converted into pop-up stores for various car brands and suppliers.

There you will receive all information about the latest models and products. But this experience is not just about looking, because you can take a seat behind the wheel yourself to experience how these cars drive and what technology they have on board.

In the paddock, e-bikes , scooters, scooters and motorcycles are ready to be ridden and experienced. Vehicles are charged by the GEM Tower, among other things; a 21 meter high tower developed by Eindhoven University of Technology that generates green electricity from wind and sun!

Participate?

On October 2, 3 and 4, 2020, the garage doors will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. An update on programming and participants can be found on the website. You can also order your Experience Ticket here .
