Essential, the company of Android founder Andy Rubin and creator of the Essential Phone PH-1, says to take the criticism about the camera of his first smartphone to heart. The second generation Essential Phone should perform better in this area.

The statements are made by Linda Jiang, head of industrial design at Essential, in a interview with Business Insider . “We are really looking forward to improving the camera for the second generation,” she says. Oh, however, did not give details about when the second generation Essential Phone would be on the market.
The camera was for many the biggest criticism in reviews of the Essential Phone. The second camera sensor, which only made black-and-white images and had to help with sharp photographs, only added a little when photos were taken with little light. The camera that makes color images also fell short and ‘did not extinguish the level of the average midrange telephone,’ according to the ou review.
The Essential Phone came exclusively in the United States in August 2017 market for a price of $ 699, although due to lack of interest two months after release was reduced to $ 499 . The Essential PH-1 will also be released in the Benelux this year.
Jiang further states that Essential looks at different types of textures and coatings to ensure that the next smartphone does not slip easily out of hand and also picks up less visible fingerprints.
