Bethesda has announced an enhanced version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. It is a free upgrade for Skyrim Special Edition owners. It is not yet clear what the improvements are.

Bethesda writes about the improved Skyrim version in the context of the tenth anniversary of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The enhanced version is free to owners of either the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series version of Skyrim. These players will then receive an upgraded version for their console.

In addition to the enhanced version, all Skyrim Special Edition owners will receive three free Creation Club content. Creation Club is a Bethesda store where buyers can purchase DLC made by Bethesda or independent modders. The three free DLCs include the ability to fish, a Survival Mode, and new quests with the Saints and Seducers pack. This dlc is coming to current-gen consoles, but also to PC and other consoles.

Finally, Bethesda announces an Anniversary Edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This includes the three previously mentioned Creation Club DLC and 500 additional Creation Club DLC. Buyers get new quests, dungeons, enemies, weapons and spells, among other things. The full game and all expansions are also included in this Anniversary Edition. Owners of the Skyrim Special Edition can purchase an upgrade for the Anniversary Edition. Prices have not yet been announced. The Anniversary Edition will also be released on November 11.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released on November 11, 2011 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. In 2016, Skyrim Special Edition, an enhanced version for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, was released. This version received improved graphics. The DLC Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn have been released for the game.
