Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment announces official sales figures for the first time since its release on February 25. In recent weeks, analysts have repeatedly mentioned the sales success of the game and this was also apparent from, for example, player numbers on Steam. According to SteamDB, the game peaked at over 950,000 concurrent players, placing it in sixth place all-time.

When announcing the figures, Bandai Namco writes that ‘more Elden Ring’ in other forms can be looked forward to. The publisher wants to do more with characters and other aspects of the game, outside the realm of games. It is not clear what the specific plans are for this.

Action RPG Elden Ring was created by developer FromSoftware, known for the Dark Souls games. Those have sold a total of 27 million copies, the studio said in 2020. Dark Souls III had sold 10 million copies four years after its release. With 12 million copies sold in just over two weeks, Elden Ring is a huge success.

Bandai Namco does not provide details about selling on different platforms. The game is available on Steam and for Xbox and PlayStation consoles. According to analysts, the game sells best in Europe on PC, followed by the PlayStation 5, Xbox and PS4. This concerns percentages of 44, 27, 16 and 13.
