Dynamic shows credit cards with display
Dynamics demonstrated secure credit cards at CES. A credit card with display only shows the full credit card number after entering the correct code. The cvv code is also dynamic, to prevent abuse and skimming.
The American Dynamics showed its products during the CES. The company’s smart credit cards must, among other things, prevent fraud, but also offer ease of use. The simplest cards are credit cards with a small switch and LEDs on them, which can be used to switch between two accounts, for example a credit and a savings account.
A more advanced model has a small e-ink display that is powered by an integrated battery. That battery also supplies energy to a built-in chip and should last the entire life of the card, about five years. With the built-in push buttons a code can be entered, after which the missing credit card numbers are shown on the e-ink display. The cvv code can be requested with another key, which is also dynamic. With one-time valid CVV codes, fraud via skimming should become difficult.
Dynamics already supplies the card to exchange between two accounts to the American Citibank and is in talks with other banks to roll out the dynamic credit card. There would also be opportunities for the European market to introduce the switchable credit card. However, the spokesperson could not give a term.
